All the beach towns of Goa have several shops selling
souvenirs and handicrafts from all over the country. The jetty at Dona
Paula has colourful kitsch, shops in Panjim sell everything from Lacoste
T-shirts to cashew nuts and lamps made from fish scales.
Famous Shopping Centres In Goa
Wendell Rodricks, a significant designeron Indian fashion scene has a
well-appointed boutique on Rue de Ourim, Panaji. Nearby Ribander has shop,
Camelot selling accessories for stylish interiors. Cavellosim, south Goa
has a plush shopping mall called "Luisa By The Sea".
The 8-km stretch of road linking Baga with calangute and Sinqerium has
hundres of Shops selling everything from leather garments to Tibetan
jewellery, from gems to fur coats. Supermarkets in this area sell packets
of readymade babinca, as well as pouches of ready to use powdered masalas
for Reichado, Xacutti, and Cafreal.
The Mapusa Friday Market is a must see for every visitor. One line of
pavement stalls sell touristy knick knacks; all the rest do brisk business
in Kokum, homemade Tody vinegar, black jaggery, dried fish and prawns, Goa
chillies and coarse sea salt, all indispensable in a Goan kitchen. If one
is in Goa, port wine is also a must buy. Any liquor shop will provide one
the stuff by bottle or in pouches.
